Discourse and Decoration: The Struggle for Historic Space. Greenhalgh
"Lets Move On". Though out most readings and articles pertaining to ceramics and its place within modern art, Pottery has always been overshadowed or improperly criticized. While other critics ask why and how come, Greenhalgh simple states, "Lets Move On". Wow, I couldn't have put it any better, I completely agree with Greenhalgh, though out history critics and art historians have been trying to explain ceramics though the same way they explain other forms of art, like painting. while this may have seemed proper then, it has actually tarished ceramics within modern art. We can no longer classify or explain ceramics through the same ways we have explained painting or other artistic mediums. we need more individuals or critics that cary a better understanding and language of ceramics.
